I was running something very similar early on and having success but with new gear I have since swapped it up.
Being a day one D1 hunter 3x hunter vet.
I can't believe this when I say it, but I am finding Knucklehead Rader to one of our most powerful exotics, especially in Nightstalker's Enhanced Rader.
The meta hasn't caught on but there is a Kinetic Weapon that completely shatters the meta due to Hunter's ability to run double kinetic mods.
Also, I highly recommend Last Hope with Invis.

Took it to pvp and can't make it work.
Just seems to hit like a plastic bag in the breeze whenever I use it.

Is Arcstrider just not as viable as Nightstalker?
If you are good at tactical retreats arcstrider is king due to combat meditation.
If you are all about flanks nightstalker might be a better choice.
Personally I prefer arc.
Last week map for trials is bad for archstrider though, to much ground to make up.
You need to use its dodge effectively to close the distant and such if you want to be effective with AS.
If I were to list out the rankings for every super in the game I'd put shadow shot and arcstrider at the bottom for PvP.
The only use I have found for it is pushing very tight spaces a FoH would be better here or countering other mobile supers which once again it isn't great at.
In my opinion it needs some kind of buff to make it better.

I feel like each grenade is effective in PvP, and focused breathing is excellent for getting your evade back quickly, but the super itself isn't anything outstanding.

Its called a valakadyn, its an auto rifle and i choose all of the stability perks so it casino best biloxi paying like a laser and can hose someone down.

Before engaging I use quickfang to corner peek to make sure they are focused elsewhere.
It's risky though because you have to be in somewhat close range.
An escape route is essential but thanks to huge speed boosts it's pretty easy if you know the maps.
And how can you stand that low sensitivity?

Funny you mentioned my sensitivity, beleive it or not, during these clips i literally turned it down because i felted like i wasnt landing my shoots.
Was playing alot of overwatch before d2 and when i started d2, i bumped my sensitivity up to 10 which is now back down to 6.
Interesting I guess it feels much slower watching than playing I play 7 so it is pretty close to that.
On the dodge though if you are using it pre-engagement anyway I feel like the auto reload isn't really useful anyway.

Obviously if you are running Gunslinger then Stomps are probably worth it, but if you are running Nightstalker then your dodge is super useful, and Dragon's Shadow is a massive buff to that.
The movement speed it gives isn't as noticeable as the Quickdraw, but it is there and when stacked with high mobility and the increased Crouch speed from Keen Scout then you have a pretty big difference.
My guess is for crazy strafes while invis to make it really hard to hit you on the opening couple shots of a firefight.
I think I still prefer stomps?

Tried this set up last night with the Antiope-D and Tone Patrol.
First game was a 9.
I had many games after of 3.
But more than anything.
During one match, I was up a full clan in Quickplay.
I threw one smoke on the inside of a wall, turned invisible and flanked around the back - 3 of them were completely unaware I was there and were prefiring the inside of the building like this is a Call of Duty game.
One Vortex grenade and a spray of Antiope-D, and they were all dead.
That's unheard of in this meta.
Then I picked up the first heavy in the center there and got a double kill with Wardcliff Coil as they respawned.
Spawns flipped, and I picked off a couple more with Tone Patrol high caliber rounds destroys those MIDA users click the following article, and sprayed down a titan after going invisible who had NO idea I was there.
I was up to 8 kills within a minute of the match starting.

As a matter of fact, I think the mail LFR set looks better than the tier gear. The 6.2 PvP gear shares these same models, just with different colors (the LFR gear is honor gear, tier gear is conquest gear). I appreciate the ranger theme of the tier 18 gear, but it feels half done. It’s a mix between ugly mail and the ranger cloak/hood.

It is super effective with getting the first pick to gain the advantage and or to disrupt your opponents.
Its the nightstalker + the exotic chest "the dragon's shadow" with the top skill tree.
With the top skill tree you'll get invisibility on dodge and with the chest, you get increase movement+ weapon handling for 10seconds.
Now pre fight, you want to dodge and if your timing is right you can engage while you are invisible and or you will have the buff from the chest piece too your advantage.
Another thing that this build provide is a snare smoke bomb.
Now i know this build is super annoying to face but is so effective.

I was running something very similar early on and having success but with new gear I have since swapped it up.
Being a day one D1 hunter 3x hunter vet.
I can't believe this when I say it, but I am finding Knucklehead Rader to one of our most powerful exotics, especially in Nightstalker's Enhanced Rader.
The meta hasn't caught on but there is a Kinetic Weapon that completely shatters the meta due to Hunter's ability to run double kinetic mods.
Also, I highly recommend Last Hope with Invis.

Thinking about dropping some resil for recovery, but something about 6 is making me feel like I can get out just in time to recover and keep slaying.

When facing a team of Uriel's, compensate your aim in preparation to the flinch of high cal.
You will consistently win one v ones.
Long long maps like eternity, the mida will still win at long long range, but that is to be expected.
Certainly won't beat the meta on maps like Eternity.
Pulses are in a bad spot atm tho.
As you said Auto's are already very stable.
CB mods are mostly for pulses and smg's.
I know it doesn't really compare cause it's an exotic, but it should straight and the 5 round burst comes in handy.
The boost you get from gallon teammates is nice, too.
I want more recovery though.
And yea same here w the mods, ive been gaining alot of new gears and have no glimmer to buy rare mods to create legendary ones.
But god damn Foetracer is insane in a meta revolving around popping and pieing.
I personally just prefer Stomp-EEs atm.

Wow, I dropped both Foetracer and Orpheus Rig last night.
Foetracer+MIDA allows you to mark in a firefight and hold ADS on the corner they are hidden on, best casino promotions but guarunteeing the kill if they pop again or get forced out due to flank.
I never touch nightstalker in PVP though so having the mark on gunslinger is best of both worlds for me.
So jealous of your orpheus rig though.
No matter what shader you put on it, that ugly gaudy gold is still there.
It also clips through the larger cloaks Frumious Cloak, aka best cloak in the gameso it's literally unusable.
I'll take this as a confirmation that we are starting to pin down the best options for Nightstalker.
I ran it with Mida and some Dodge mods and I plan on running this every Trials because it is so stupidly effective.
Trials is where this build really shines because you can predict which routes they can take from the set spawn locations.
Without that spawn knowledge and a strong team as an anchor, I could see some struggling with this build.
It is a very deliberate and independent way to play and you are so much faster that it can be too easy to overextend.

On another note, why is it that the Destiny community is only now discovering this exotic?
I didn't even know it existed until I found it last night.
Couple with the fact that several exotics aren't very interesting or powerful on paper.
Orpheus Rig, Lucky Raspberry, and even Dragon's Shadow could have played out much worse, even if they kept the same perk description.
Knucklehead was super underwhelming in D1 and Foetracer was already given to Nightstalkers through Keen Scout.
If you add this up, we had people upset about the class ability, their exotics, and their focus in the "useless" Mobility stat.
Little did we know that those exotics would turn out to be some of the best in the game.
And only by playing the new Crucible did people realize the true potential of Hunter, with things like access to faster sprint, the best jump, high mobility and other neutral game tools.
They can also stack Counterbalance mods.
I have videos during the beta with reviews and such.
But yea, you are on point w hunters being potent.
Dragon's Shadow can give 3 Resilience, so you can most likely get the stats you desire, I just felt ability cooldowns were worth more than stat points.
I used it a little when I got it on Arcstrider and I honestly didn't really feel a difference.
Ill just give u an example, you are at range having a scout battle and then comes midrange his buddy closing in on u, you can then either reload or whip out say your sidearm combo with better strafing you put yourself in a better predicament.
I thought it was reassuring somebody else had this success, enough to write here about it.
Most of the people in the other thread seemed to be convinced that Stomps were the way to go.
I ran both the last couple days and prefer Dragon's Shadow for sure.

This seems to be the only effective way for me to beat groups and overcome the team fire meta.

I've ran that with Vigilance Wing and MIDA combo.
MIDA comes out slightly on top though for me.
I move around so quickly so I'm able to spec more into resilience and health recovery to cover my weaknesses.
I don't run exotic guns in PvP either.

Also, as someone who is a bit of a radar whore even in Destiny 2, I can confirm the snare looking like an enemy on radar is quite effective if used well.
You can still effectively wombo combo.
Bait someone into a smoke, then throw a spike.
Most people are confused my smokes and either rush them or waste their grenade on it.
If timed correctly, you can predict when enemies will rush the smoke and preemptively toss a smoke which is an easy kill.

Origin Story Auto Rifle: The Origin Story is one of the best Auto Rifles in Destiny 2.
This is a great weapon for PvP and PvE.

The Rampage perk, on the Origin Story, makes this weapon very powerful in PvP, as the damage of the weapon increases with every kill.
This perk stacks up to 3 times, but the duration of the buff is brief.
This energy weapon is very stable and will kill enemies in no time at all.

I play Hunter Nightstalker almost exclusively. I typically run 8/4/3. I've recently been experimenting with 8/6/2 with good results in PVP. Try a bunch of different setups. Get one set each of mobility, heavy and restorative gear and see what works the best for you. In PVP I run St0mp E55s and PVE I run Orpheus Rigs.

With the top skill tree you'll get invisibility on dodge and with the chest, you get increase movement+ weapon handling for 10seconds.
Now pre fight, you want to dodge and if your timing is right you can engage while you are invisible and or you will have the buff from the chest piece too your advantage.
Another thing that this build provide is a snare smoke bomb.
Now i know this build is super annoying to face but is so effective.

I was running something very similar early on and having success but with new gear I have since swapped it up.
Being a day one D1 hunter 3x hunter vet.
I can't believe this when I say it, but I am finding Knucklehead Rader to one of our most powerful exotics, especially in Nightstalker's Enhanced Rader.
The meta hasn't caught on but there is a Kinetic Weapon that completely shatters the meta due to Hunter's ability to run double kinetic mods.
Also, I highly recommend Last Hope with Invis.
What are you currently running stat wise?
Thinking about dropping some resil for recovery, but something about 6 is making me feel like I can get out just in time to recover and keep slaying.
It's the Antiope D isn't it?
About to level up a hunter because I think hunter would be a better fit for the weapon class.
I first used it in pve and found it melts shit.
Took it to pvp and can't make it work.
Just seems to hit like a plastic bag in the breeze whenever I use it.
Also what do you tend to run in energy with it?
Try close range but it works in kinda mid range too.
Ads, no ads when jumping overboard people as a hunter to melee.
Aim for head always or you'll lose.
Takes some time to get used to it.
Can't seem to make it hit damage wise at all.
Due to handling and kick like last hope is a neck shot I find because the other two bullets find the head.
For a Titan you can run kenetic munitions loader not counterbalance mods on arms and class item.
I was worried about reloading since I was to reload the Antiope-D quickly to take advantage of the damage boost after kills, which is about 33%!
The gun takes a different play style but that is a positive.
Play styles break metas.
When facing a team of Uriel's, compensate your aim in preparation to the flinch of high best in slot hunter pvp gear 6 2 />You will consistently win one v ones.
Long long maps like eternity, the mida will still win at long long range, but that is to be expected.
Certainly won't beat the meta on maps like Eternity.
Pulses are in a bad spot atm tho.
As you said Auto's are already very stable.
CB mods are mostly for pulses and smg's.
I know it doesn't really compare cause it's an exotic, but it should straight and the 5 round burst comes in handy.
The boost you get from gallon teammates is nice, too.
I want more recovery though.
And yea same here w the mods, ive been gaining alot of new gears and have no glimmer to buy rare mods to create legendary ones.
But god damn Foetracer is insane in a meta revolving around popping and pieing.

Its fucking broken right now.
Wow, I dropped both Foetracer and Orpheus Rig last night.
Foetracer+MIDA allows you to mark in a firefight and hold ADS on the corner they are hidden on, all but guarunteeing the kill if they pop again or get forced out due to flank.
I never touch nightstalker in PVP though so having the mark on gunslinger is best of both worlds for me.
So jealous of your orpheus rig though.
No matter what shader you put on it, that ugly gaudy gold is still there.
It also clips through the larger cloaks Frumious Cloak, aka best cloak in the gameso it's literally unusable.
I'll take this as a confirmation that we are starting to pin down the best options for Nightstalker.
I ran it with Mida and some Dodge mods and I plan on running this every Trials because it is so stupidly effective.
Trials is where this build really shines because you can predict which routes they can take from the set spawn locations.
Without that spawn knowledge and a strong team as an anchor, I could see some struggling with this build.
It is a very deliberate and independent way to play and you are so much faster that it can be too easy to overextend.
You cool I guess.
On another note, why is it that the Destiny community is only now discovering this exotic?
I didn't even know it existed until I found it last night.
Couple with the fact that several exotics aren't very interesting or powerful on paper.
Orpheus Rig, Lucky Raspberry, and even Dragon's Shadow could have played out much worse, even if they kept the same perk description.
Knucklehead was super underwhelming in D1 and Foetracer was already given to Nightstalkers through Keen Scout.
If you add this up, we had people upset about the class ability, their exotics, and their focus in the "useless" Mobility stat.
Little did we know that those exotics would turn out to be some of the best in the game.
And only by playing the new Crucible did people realize the true potential of Hunter, with things like access to faster sprint, the best jump, high mobility and other neutral game tools.
They can also stack Counterbalance mods.
I have videos during the beta with reviews and such.
But yea, you are on point w hunters being potent.
Dragon's Shadow can give 3 Resilience, so you can most likely get the stats you desire, I just felt ability cooldowns were worth more than stat points.
I used it a little when I got it on Arcstrider and I honestly didn't really feel a difference.
Ill just give u an example, you are at range having a scout battle and then comes midrange his buddy closing in on u, you can then either reload or whip out say your sidearm combo with better strafing you put yourself in a better predicament.
I thought it was reassuring somebody else had this success, enough to write here about it.
Most of the people in the other thread seemed to be convinced that Stomps were the way to go.
I ran both the last couple days and prefer Dragon's Shadow for sure.
We may have started a Butterfly Effect here, be on the lookout for the invisible Hunters.
I just kept the tradition of casino puerto rico this exotic in pvp due to the synergy, but realized how potent it was in trials shortly after.
Again im not saying i discovered before you or whoever but ive been running this setup and were one of my builds i messed w in pvp.
This loadout is strong, which is probably many on this sub have independently arrived at this build.

I've ran that with Vigilance Wing and MIDA combo.
MIDA comes out slightly on top though for me.
I move around so quickly so I'm able to spec more into resilience and health recovery to cover my weaknesses.
I don't run exotic guns in PvP either.
I have like 17 points including armor mods in my stats, how are bay area casinos best only at a total of 13?!

Is Arcstrider just not as viable as Nightstalker?
If you are good at tactical retreats arcstrider is king due to combat meditation.
If you are all about flanks nightstalker might be a better choice.
Personally I prefer arc.
Last week map for trials is bad for archstrider though, to much ground to make up.
You need to use its dodge effectively to close the distant and such if you want to be effective with AS.
If I were to list out the rankings for every super in the game I'd put shadow shot and arcstrider at the bottom for PvP.
The only use I have found for it is pushing very tight spaces a FoH would be better here or countering other mobile supers which once again it isn't great at.
In my opinion it needs some kind of buff to make it better.
Maybe health regeneration on kill or a base movement speed bonus like FoH gets.
The thing I love most about Arcstrider is the grenades.
I feel like each grenade is effective in PvP, and focused breathing is excellent for getting your evade back quickly, but the super itself isn't anything outstanding.
If you're able to get a good flank, then it's really good, but those situations are few and far between.
During the beta i made a video stating my opinion on d2, the video is titled "my final thought on the beta.
Once you learn how to master it its a pretty dirty super.
It can 1v1 for sure the issue is when they start team firing you.
Even with the reduced damage taken while dodging no amount of dodge spam will protect you from competent shooters.
I'm not saying you can't get any kills with it in the right circumstances but in direct comparison to stormcaller and fist of havoc which are both melee style roaming supers it just isn't as good.
I can take on multiple enemies by dodging out of their sight line and then more info />You may be right since i have not use archstrider as much as i would like.
Because if I pop this I'm likely going to die.
It is useful for that but it doesn't consistently slay.
May work wonders w this build.
When it tags your enemy, it makes it so everyone else can now see them on their screen too.
Granting a team wall hack is pretty good for trials.
If I get all of them, even if I don't kill them, I usually win the round as long as I do it early.
But I do feel aimassist is lower or maybe I just suck.
You can just imagine how annoying this build is to face, especially majority of the people run mida, so they are hardscoping expecting to see blips on the radar if there danger.
Also the snare smoke is such a good tool too divert your opponent attention somewhere else as you sneak up on em.
Ive seen people run archstrider w the lucky raspberry chest piece and seem to work fine.
I consider myself a flanker type for my team, so I'll for sure give this build a try once I get the chest piece to drop!
If you cant give up a kinectic slot, try death adder best in slot hunter pvp gear 6 2 foggy notion.

Its called a valakadyn, its an auto rifle and i choose all of the stability perks so best in slot hunter pvp gear 6 2 fires like a laser and can hose someone down.
I've had great success opening with a nade while flanking and cleaning up with nightshade and more grenades thanks to LR.
Before engaging I use quickfang to corner peek to make sure they are focused elsewhere.
It's risky though because you have to be in somewhat close range.

Especially for Last Hope where your map drops fast.
Your stability will drastically improve after you land shots making crits easier.
Stomp gives you the Sprint bonus, at all times.
You are still fast when you are invisible.
You are a terror up close no compare.
Hard for me to give up permanent Sprint, jump and slide bonuses, though.
It's useful for getting in AND out.
I'll give Dragon a go, and see what I think.
It doesn't stack with Stomps.
So your exotic is technically giving you Slide Distance and more airtime.
Obviously if you are running Gunslinger then Stomps are probably worth it, but if you are running Nightstalker then your dodge is super useful, and Dragon's Shadow is a massive buff to that.
The movement speed it gives isn't as noticeable as the Quickdraw, but it is there and when stacked with high mobility and the increased Crouch speed from Keen Scout then you have a pretty big difference.
My guess is for crazy strafes while invis to make it really hard to hit you on the opening couple shots of a firefight.
I think I still prefer stomps?
