Tom Brady turns good wide receivers into great wide receivers.
His status as a puts him on the verge of the geriatric stage in the NFL.
Equally as important, his team is winning at a tremendous pace can you say?
Brady allegedly wants to play into.
While we best slot wide receivers of all time the sentiment is exaggerated, we understand the argument.
Note: We stick strictly to wide receivers for this list.
Julian Edelman Julian Edelman celebrates a touchdown.
He is one of twoalong with Gronk, who Brady has today.
The former college quarterback is primarily used as a slot receiver, picking up chunk yardage on third downs frequently.
The shifty wide out is just four TD hookups with Brady away from passing No.
Deion Branch Deion Branch holds the football as tight as more info can.
But Branch was far from a one-trick pony during his 11 years in the league.
Securing his 518 career receptions on 883 targets, Branch demonstrated intense reliability, especially.
Of his 39 career TD receptions, 24 of them came from the arm of Brady, which puts him in fourth place on No.
Troy Brown Best slot wide receivers of all time Brady and Troy Brown had a special relationship on the field.
Unfortunately, Brown was already in his ninth season by best friends hacked time Brady took over the reins of the Patriots franchise, but for the that they were together, this duo was terrific.
Brown did play all the way through the 2006 season plus appearing in one game in 2007.
During the early stages ofNo.
However, Brady and this wide receiver built a solid repertoire during their six seasons together.
Wes Welker Wes Welker speaks to the media during a press conference.
Edelman still has a ways to go to match what Welker accomplished with Brady, but the similarities between the two slot receivers are uncanny.
Edelman is actually listed as three inches taller than Welker.
However, neither classify as big wide outs whatsoever.
That gives the Texas Tech product the third most touchdown receptions from TB12.
Randy Moss Randy Moss makes a break for it.
Moss had it all — speed, length, and unmatched athleticism.
This guy was all about link long ball, as he and Brady hooked up many, many times for Hail-Mary-esque touchdown bombs during their three-plus seasons together.
When considering who ranks at the top of this list, all you have to look at is the 2007 season.

In the 2015 season, NFL teams put five or more defensive backs on the field on 65% of snaps.
Offenses also put three or more receivers on the field on 60% of snaps—up 10% from five years ago on both sides of the ball.
That, as you might guess, is not a coincidence.
With these schematic changes comes the need for specialists at new positions, making the slot receiver the most obvious beneficiary of this paradigm shift—if not the slot cornerback or safety defending him.
The rankings below highlight the wide receivers who do underrated work closer in to the formation.
Next big thing John Brown, Arizona Cardinals: Bruce Arians always loves to have a speed slot receiver in his offense, and Brown fits the bill.
He caught 22 slot passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns last season.
Hurns caught 64 passes for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015, becoming a consistent threat in.
Twenty-nine of those catches came in the slot and went for a total of 511 yards and seven touchdowns.
At 6' 3" and 195 pounds, Hurns gives Blake Bortles a great red-zone target best slot wide receivers of all time his size, elusiveness and toughness.
Last season, he grabbed 32 catches in the slot for 467 yards and two touchdowns.
Twenty-seven of those receptions and six of his eight touchdowns came from the slot.
Decker is especially expert at turning outside to the boundary and creating quick openings for short passes, but he can also accelerate downfield for the deep seam catch.
Seven of his 12 touchdowns came from the slot last season, on everything from deep stutter-go routes to flare patterns in which Decker would lull his cornerback to sleep and then turn on the gas at the last second.
In his prime, Fitzgerald was the most feared receiver in the league, with a source combination of quickness, downfield speed, toughness and intelligence.
source season, he caught 52 of 64 targets from the slot for 606 yards and three touchdowns.
When coach Bruce Arians calls vertical routes to one side and timing routes to the other—a common construct for the Cardinals—Fitzgerald will often be asked to run a slant or drag route over the middle to give his quarterback yet another option.
His 75-yard catch and run in overtime against the Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs, came after he motioned from right outside to the slot, ran a crossing route best slot wide receivers of all time idea ragnarok gamestop talented past three Green Bay defenders on the run.
It is this versatility and determination that has allowed Fitzgerald to excel in the slot as he always has outside.
Over the last few years, Edelman has replaced Wes Welker as the best option route runner in the NFL, making him a perfect fit on the Patriots, who have more option routes in https://fablabs.ru/best/best-free-multiplayer-web-games.html playbook than any other team.
No receiver is better at reading coverages and adjusting his routes based on opponent tendencies, a mandatory skill for earning trust with Tom Brady in the New England offense.
No receiver has been more prolific in the slot over the last two years than Matthews, who was handed that role from Day 1 of his 2014 rookie season by then-coach Chip Kelly.
He caught a league-leading 81 passes from the slot on 114 targets for 972 yards and eight touchdowns in 2015.
It remains to be seen what the post-Kelly regime will do with him, though early returns indicate that head coach Doug Pederson and offensive coordinator Frank Reich see Matthews as an inside guy in more of a West Coast offense prototype.
Matthews is smooth on the run, go here not terribly quick, and he does tend to tackle too easily—an issue that goes back to his source days.
But he will beat the occasional cornerback over the top, and he's got a nice best slot wide receivers of all time for timing on the kinds of routes that bedevil linebackers and box safeties in the middle of the field.
Most likely, he's going to be a leader in slot categories for a number of years, and in today's game, that's not a bad thing at all.
Cobb was forced more outside in 2015 as a result of the torn ACL that cost Jordy Nelson his entire 2015 season.
He showed impressive best slot wide receivers of all time, but the Packers are in their best shape when Cobb can manipulate coverage over the middle and down the seams as a speed slot weapon with an ever-increasing route awareness.
Cobb's speed is his primary skill—he can foot-fake a cornerback into stopping at the first coverage point, and then blow right by him in embarrassing fashion.
Even with a depleted receiver corps and some really questionable offensive playcalling last season, Cobb still caught 66 passes from the slot on 109 targets for 704 yards and six touchdowns.
Not quite the transcendent slot season he had in 2014, but quite respectable under the circumstances.
With Nelson back as his outside foil and perhaps a few more route concepts stuck in Mike McCarthy's playbookCobb could work his way to the top of this list, especially if he gets over the focus drops that plagued him at times in 2015.
Only Jordan Matthews had more slot targets than Landry's 102, and Landry caught 71 of those targets for 784 yards and two touchdowns.
The second-round pick in 2014 was an explosive player in an offense that was anything but last season—Landry caught the fourth-most passes in the NFL in 2015 110 on 166 targetsbut only eight of those passes went over 20 yards, and he scored just four touchdowns.
New head coach and offensive shot-caller Adam Gase has already said that he wants Landry to get more big-play opportunities both inside and outside, and Landry is certainly equal to the task.
He's got a great sense for how to find and exploit openings in coverage, and he's got the downfield speed to excel outside, and threaten deep coverage on vertical seam and over routes.
Those in the know have been aware of Landry's potential for a while; don't be surprised if he joins the league's upper echelon in everyone's mind in 2016.
The undrafted star out of Stanford had a breakout season in 2015, leading the league with 14 touchdown catches.
Twelve best pc games of all time rock paper shotgun those came from the slot, where Baldwin ran nearly 80% of his routes last season.
Baldwin can do great things outside, but his skill set and mental approach lean perfectly to the slot position, where he can improvise openings with the best in the business.

After seeing the news about Welker pondering retirement I'm bummed to maybe have to say goodbye to one of my favorite players for good.
Eventually I got to thinking- where would Welker best slot wide receivers of all time undersized UDFA rank among history's slot receivers?
I'm not incredibly informed on who the skilled slot visit web page in the league were pre-2000s, so I was wondering what discussion you guys could provide on the subject.
I think it's a bit premature to start looking for the best slot receiver of all time if only because the slot receiver is something of best slot wide receivers of all time newer prominent "position" in the NFL.
I had always assumed the slot receiver was a role that teams have had guys fill for a long time.
Edit: I accidentally a word.
Yeah, 12, 21, and 22 personnel sets were widely the norm for a good 3 decades.
The 11 set is a recent development.
And yet honestly he's probably not making the HoF That kind of sucks to hear.
I know there's a jam at WR but maybe they can open it up a small crack, too small for a big receiver to fit through, but perhaps a tiny white scrappy gym rat can fit through?
I see both him and Big Vince being snubbed because of their roles in the NFL Slot receivers get no best slot wide receivers of all time and neither do nose tackles Cruz had the opportunity to give Welker a run for his money.
Unfortunately, first the Giants didn't have the proper personnel and that forced Cruz into the primary receiver role.
Now that they finally have the primary receiver again Cruz is now injured and may never ever return to form.
Welker has probably thrived the best in the slot.
He's just a perfect fit for it in every regard.
But, since we were devoid of talent at the WR position his entire career here he was forced to play on the outside - and to be fair, he was a legit 1 on best slot wide receivers of all time outside and the undisputed best in the NFL for a bit.
He wasn't a great route runner, had terrible hands, wasn't fast, and wasn't big.
He benefitted from playing with Brady.
He was a good player but no where even close to best slot reciver of all time Welker was very good at route running and timing which is crucial for slot receivers while you're right he didn't have the best hands he was still very special and I don't know what you mean by him being big.
Welker had 3 seasons above 1300 yards and one year with 1500 yards.
He wasn't very clutch but he was a pure slot receiver and putting up those numbers for that position is pretty crazy.
Edelman who has been playing amazing barely broke 1000 yards last year when he was the only receiver on the roster and Brady's only option most of the year.
Welker was able to be a pinnacle of the offense while even though Edelman can line up outside and he's much better at YAC, he wasn't able to compare to what Welker did.
Although I would take Edelman in the SB over Welker I loved him for what he did here and way to many people discredit and make fun of him and most of it is not deserved.
He was a monster.
Hilton has been good for what?
And the Cruz opinion comes with the Giants flair.
He's nowhere near Welker's level and with his injury he'll probably never get there unfortunately.
He got number one treatment when we didn't sign nicks and obj was hurt.
He's a slot receiver by trade.
Him being the best receiver on the team for a season and a half doesn't mean he's not a slot guy.
Slot receivers and tight ends fill two different roles.
While TEs are normally big-bodied guys who can double as blockers.
Not sure if you meant "you mean tight ends" as in them and slot guys are essentially the same thing or not.
Nah, I was just making a dumb joke https://fablabs.ru/best/best-us-poker-site-for-freerolls.html because of the Jimmy Graham ruling, slot receivers were labeled tight ends.
Wasn't it just because Graham, for a majority of his snaps, lined up within 5?
click imagine most slot receivers is lined up further out than that I think you're right, but there were concerns that it could set a precedent that some slot receivers will be classified as tight ends.
Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen passed away on June 13th after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
The Hall Fame inductee oversaw one of the most successful runs in the NFL during his tenure, with the Broncos accumulating as many Super Bowl appearances 7 as losing seasons 7 since he purchased the team in 1983.

Of the top 100 leaders in receiving yards among wide receivers last year, only six of the receivers were white.
That 6% is probably close to the percentage of wide receivers in the NFL that are white as well.
Just like black receivers, white receivers are of varying ability and talents.
You have your stars like Jordy Nelson, you have your deep threats like Chris Hogan, and you have your slot receivers like Cole Beasley.
This includes guys who were primarily receivers in their careers as well as multi-positional players who played the position for at least one season sort of like a throwback Ty Montgomery.
He was the final pick of the 2007 draft by the Colts and was supposed to be the heir apparent to Marvin Harrison.
He averaged about 600 yards thru his first two seasons and then found himself more on the training table than on a field.
He then suited up for just online slot websites games the following year with a torn PCL.
By 2011 he was buried on the depth chart and was relegated to special teams.
After 94 receptions in consider, best strategy for playing penny slots are first two seasons, Gonzalez had just five combined catches over his last three seasons.
With his football career over, Gonzalez received his MBA from Stanford in 2014 and now is the COO of an education management company in San Francisco.
He appeared in Super Bowls in his rookie season and his final season but came up short both times to the 49ers.
Collinsworth, Randy Moss, Odell Beckham, and A.
Green are the only receivers since 1980 to make the Pro Bowl in each of their first three seasons.
In the first round they took Charles Rogers who attended Michigan State and in the sixth round they took David Kircus out of Grand Valley St.
While Rogers was a complete bust, Kircus was maybe even a worst player and it was soon clear that he was only drafted by the Lions due to his local ties.
He spent two years with the Lions and another with the Broncos and finished his NFL career with all of 15 receptions.
He was then arrested again in 2010 for obstructing a police officer and driving with a suspended license.
That arrest then led to best casino games vegas release with another team, the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL.
Later in 2010 Kircus filed for bankruptcy and his last known football-related activity was another stint with the now-defunct UFL in 2012.
After Jerry Rice, no one caught more touchdown passes from Montana than Clark did and none were more important than that one in the back of the endzone in the 1981 NFCCG.
Remarkably consistent, Clark posted at least 50 receptions and 700 receiving yards in 7 straight seasons from 1980-1986.
By the time he retired in 1987, only Steve Largent had more receptions among white receivers post-merger.
Somehow, someway the Baltimore Colts thought that production warranted a first round pick in the 1977 NFL draft.
Burke was the second receiver drafted and just one spot behind Stanley Morgan who made 4 Pro Bowls.
But he did force a safety in 1978 which tied for the league lead along with 15 other players!
He now works as a marketing consultant for the CBS affiliate back in Lexington, Kentucky.
The offensive coordinator of that team, Mike Shanahan, then became the head coach of the Broncos and he brought McCaffrey with him over to Denver.
McCaffrey, Rod Smith, and Shannon Sharpe formed one of the best receiving units in the NFL and helped the Broncos win back-to-back Super Bowls in the late 1990s.
McCaffrey also experiences his greatest individual success by posting three straight 1000 yard seasons starting in 1998.
After breaking his leg in Week 1 of the 2001 season, McCaffrey came back to play two more seasons with the Broncos before retiring in 2003.
His son, Christian, was a first round more info by the Panthers in 2017 and could easily find himself on this list one day…or even the running back versions of this list.
He was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2013 by Washington even though he had all of 2 TD receptions in four years at UCONN.
He was, however, a potent return specialist and scored 2 kick return TDs and 2 punt return TDs while in Storrs.
But Williams has not showcased that return ability nor his receiving ability in the NFL.
After being cut by the Redskins, Williams was out of football in 2014 and spent the last two seasons with the Falcons.
Of the 65 players in NFL history with at least 600 receptions, Maynard has the highest yards per reception average 18.
The Jets were one of the first teams to modernize the game with deep passing as Maynard and Art Powell became the first receiver tandem to each gain 1000 yards in a season 1960.
All that for a guy who was drafted as a running back, cut during training camp in his second season, and had to play in Canada for a year before returning to the states!
Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports Bersin has been in the Carolinas all his life as he was born and raised in Charlotte, attended Wofford in South Carolina, and the Panthers are the only NFL team he has known.
Undrafted in 2012, Bersin was signed by the Panthers but cut in training camp in 2012 and 2013.
He finally made his debut in a regular season game in 2014 and scored his only career touchdown.
He was activated during the season and played in 9 games with 9 receptions.
Bersin made the team out of training camp in 2016 but guess what happened a month into the season?
He was cut again but was re-signed by the team two days later.
After 5 NFL seasons, he has just 24 more receptions than you or I have.
Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports Nelson spent the first few years in an apprenticeship role behind Greg Jennings and Donald Driver, but he broke out in his fourth season in 2011 with over 1200 receiving yards and 15 TDs.
The Aaron Rodgers-to-Jordy Nelson connection has only thrived since then as Nelson has posted 4 career seasons with at least 1,200 receiving yards.
Despite missing all of 2015 with a torn ACL, Best slot wide receivers of all time has been a touchdown machine in his career and led the NFL in receiving touchdowns when he came back in 2016.
For his career, Nelson has posted three seasons with at least 13 receiving touchdowns which is something have also done.
Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports Whalen used the Andrew Luck-Stanford connection to join his former Cardinal quarterback with the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2012.
After missing all of his rookie year due to injury, Whalen then posted three lackluster years in Indy and had more returns than he had receptions.
He was also part of maybe the.
He spent the 2016 season with the Chargers but had similar disappointment as he had with the Colts.
Over his career he has essentially been the 53 rd man on the roster and shuffled between the practice squad and the main roster.
In his 5 NFL seasons he has been cut more times 5 than he has scored touchdowns 3.
In 2016 alone he was cut by four different teams and has signed with the Ravens for the 2017 season.
The Ravens also have Michael Campanero on their roster but one of those two will likely be cut as per NFL rule, only the Patriots are allowed to have multiple white receivers.
But that was the nickname given to Lance Alworth because of his graceful running style which seemed effortless at times.
He made 6 straight All-Pro teams with the Chargers and led the league in receiving touchdowns three straight seasons.
Alworth was the pre-merger version of Cris Carter as it seemed like all he did was catch touchdowns.
He ranks best slot wide receivers of all time nd all-time in receptions but 15 th all-time in receiving touchdowns.
Alworth played for the Chargers in the AFL for most of his career and became the first player to be inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame whose playing career was primarily in the AFL.

Despite having just 4 catches total up to the NFC Divisional game, Janis went off for 7 receptions for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns.
He also caught the Hail Mary pass on the final play of regulation to send the game into overtime.
Ever since then Packers fans have expected Janis to be the second coming of Jordy Nelson but Janis has been unable to transfer his physical skills into consistent success on the field.
Despite playing all 16 games in 2016, Janis registered just 11 catches all year.
He led the nation in orleans machines best slot harrahs new yards and receiving touchdowns as a senior while also being a two-way player and being a starting defensive back.
He was a two-time AFL all-star and a four-time NFL Pro Bowler while also being named the MVP of Super Bowl XI.
Speaking of the postseason, Biletnikoff excelled on the biggest of stages as by the time he retired, he was the all-time leader in postseason receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
After retiring Biletnikoff then spent 26 years as a coach including 18 years as the WR coach for the Raiders.
As a result, he was chosen in the first round of the 1973 NFL draft by the Packers.
Smith was only a part-time starter for three seasons in Green Bay and never even reached 300 receiving yards in any season.
He retired after the 1976 season with 45 catches for 692 yards and 4 touchdowns.
All of those numbers are fewer than he had in his senior season, alone, while at Florida State.
That game alone would have earned Berry a spot on this list but he was an elite receiver throughout his career and led the league in receptions 3 times and receiving yards 3 times.

He was then popped again a year later for violating the terms of his probation and asked to be sent to jail instead of a residential treatment program as the program would have interfered with training camp.
Nonetheless, Jones would never play another NFL game and his career was over at the age of 25.
One is the incomparable Jerry Rice and the other was Steve Largent in 1995.
Before Jerry Rice came along, Largent held every major receiver record including being the all-time leader in all three of the Triple Crown statistics.

With all due respect to Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers; Don Hutson is the greatest Packer of all-time.
